Plast(HE) I

DESCRIPTION:

AT-PLAST (HE) I is a specially designed admixture which is totally free from chloride, it is hazy or light brown in colour. AT-PLAST (HE) I helps to accelerate the setting time and early strength gain of Portland cement concrete and mortar mixes without introduction of chloride ion (which is harmful for reinforcement; causing corrosion / rusting). Its water reducing characteristic can be gainfully utilized for both early as well as ultimate strength. AT-PLAST (HE) I is highly recommended for Paver Blocks, Fly Ash Bricks, Pre-stressed Concrete and other types of concrete.

STANDARDS:

AT-PLAST (HE) I complies with ASTM C 494 Type E, BS 5075 Part I and IS: 9103:1999

USES:

  • Chloride free, safe for pre-stressed and reinforced concrete
  • Generates very high early strength in concrete as required in Paver Blocks, Fly Ash Bricks, Concrete Poles, Hume Pipes, Kerb Stones, etc
  • Its plasticizing nature increases workability and / or increased strength
  • Particularly effective in low temperature concreting

ADVANTAGES:

  • Substantial improvement in workability without increased water
  • Excellent high early strength
  • Good slump retention
  • Does not promote corrosion
  • Compatible with air entraining agents
  • Does not contain any added chloride, i.e. chloride free
  • Ultimate strength is unaffected

DOSAGE:

  • The recommended dosage for standard mix concrete is 0.3% to 0.5% by weight of Cementitious Material in tropical temperature, higher than 25° C
  • For low temperature concreting (5°C to 25°C) the dosage level is 0.5% to 1% by weight of cement
  • Dispensing to be added direct into the mixer post diluting with water. For very high early strength, steam curing / increase of dosage is recommended, depending on site requirements
  • Actual dosage depends on site trial
  • AT-PLAST (HE) I is compatible with all kinds of Portland cement

INSTRUCTION FOR USE:

  • AT-PLAST (HE) I is normally added to the mixing water before its addition to the dry mix, but in most cases it is added to the freshly mixed concrete. For the Ready Mix Concrete (RMC), AT-PLAST (HE) I is added to the concrete before its discharge and mixing is to be carried out for at least 5 minutes.
