Micron(I)

DESCRIPTION:

AT-MICRON (I) a ready to use dry powder, specially designed repair material to produce free flowing non shrink, polymer concrete at the site when mixed with clean water. The material is a mixture of selected cement, polymer in powder form, fine aggregate and other chemicals. Only addition of water is required at site. The low water requirement ensures high early strength and long term durability.

USES:

  • AT-MICRON (I) is highly recommended for the repair of damaged concrete structures in:
    • Columns
    • Beams
    • Piles
    • Slabs etc, and where vibration of the placed material is difficult or impossible
    • Foundations / Rafts
    • Concrete with congested reinforcement, etc.

ADVANTAGES:

    • High early strength facilitates early reinstatement of the structure
    • AT-MICRON (I) offers excellent resistance to moisture ingress and makes repaired sections highly durable
    • AT-MICRON (I) can be poured or pumped into restricted locations even with a very low water/powder ratio
    • No primer required
    • It allows placement without vibration
    • Good bond with old concrete due to volume expansion
    • Consistency can be adjusted by recommended water limits
    • AT-MICRON (I) is chloride free
    • Easy to apply, only water to be added
    • Polymer in powder form is already added

INSTRUCTION FOR USE:

  • SURFACE PREPARATION
    • Surface to be treated must be clean and free from loosely adhering particles. All damaged concrete must be removed back to a suitable substrate which is sound and stable and strong enough to accept the mortar. Corroded reinforcing steel should be exposed and cleaned by mechanical means.
  • MIXING
    • AT-MICRON (I) can be mixed both in paddle type slow speed grout mixer or drum type concrete mixer. Place the minimum quantity (2.50 ltrs) of water for each pack of material in the mixer, and then slowly add the powder. Mix continuously until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. Then add remaining water (max. 3 ltrs per pack) to achieve the required consistency. When the recommended quantity of water is added, mixing shall be continued for minimum of 5 minutes making sure that a smooth, even, lump free mix is obtained.
  • APPLICATION
    • The mixed material should be placed or poured within 20 minutes of mixing to gain benefit of the expansion process. Prior to placing, the concrete surface should be saturated with clean water. There should be no standing water just prior to application. Proper displacement of air should also be ensured.
    • Alternatively, all prepared concrete substrates can be primed with AT-BOND (EX) /or AT-BOND COAT /or AT-CRETE LATEX for better bonding.
    • The micro-concrete in the flow-able consistency should achieve a compressive strength of not less than 10N/mm² in 24 hrs. Provision must also be made for suitable access points to pour or pump the mixed micro-concrete in place.
    • For repair sections generally deeper than 100 mm it is necessary to mix AT-MICRON (I) with 5-12 mm aggregate in the ratio of AT-MICRON (I) : Coarse Aggregate (SSD)= 1:1 (by weight).
  • CURING
    • Curing to be carried out with water.
