Crete

DESCRIPTION:

AT-CRETE is an acrylic polymer based modified cementitious composite coating system. It is applied to concrete and mortar structures to prevent water infiltration and dampness.

USES:

AT-CRETE is a perfect solution for external and internal waterproofing, repairs to concrete, hairline crack sealing, surface protecting in the following structures:

  • Basements
  • Toilets
  • Water tanks
  • Retaining walls
  • Terraces
  • Roof gardens
  • Swimming pools

ADVANTAGES:

  • AT-CRETE is an effective polymer based waterproofing compound. Key benefits are:
    • Resistant to ultra-violet rays
    • Ideal for use in both new areas as-well-as in renovation works
    • Develops excellent bond with most building materials
    • Easy to apply by brush
    • Prevent penetration of salts and arrests salt-petre action
    • Non-corrosive to steel and iron
    • Non-toxic, suitable for contact with drinking water
    • Properties improve with age
    • Eco-friendly, non-flammable and does not emit toxic gas

INSTRUCTION FOR USE:

  • SURFACE PREPARATION
    • Before application of AT-CRETE surface(s) should be free from all dust, foreign materials, loose particles, contamination etc. Steel and iron must be free from scale, rust and any other contamination. Efficient surface preparation is essential to achieve high adhesive quality of the product. New concrete shall be reasonably smooth. All concrete surfaces shall be thoroughly pre-wetted prior to the application of AT-CRETE coating.
  • MIXING
    • AT-CRETE polymer is mixed with neat cement in the ratio of 1 part of AT-CRETE and 2 parts of Cement by weight. For trowellable and putty consistency the proportion of AT-CRETE should be reduced accordingly. The mixing should be done by slowly adding powder component to AT-CRETE until a homogeneous smooth consistency is obtained
  • APPLICATION
    • All surfaces have to be dampened prior to the application of AT-CRETE coating. When applying the first coat of AT-CRETE coating, all water from the surfaces shall have to be removed so that surface is only damp or surface saturated dry condition.
    • After applying the first coat, wait for 2-6 hours for the coating to be hardened.
    • Apply second coat over the hardened first coat and leave to air-drying for 2-6 hours.
    • After maximum 6 hours of the application of the final coat moist curing shall be done for the next 24 hours.
    • No traffic movement shall be allowed on the coated surface within 48 hours of coating.
  • CLEANING
    • Clean all tools and equipments immediately after use with water.

COVERAGE:

  • 2 coats of AT-CRETE are always recommended. Consumption of AT-CRETE is 0.500 kg/sq.mtr depending upon the substrate. In extreme cases 3 coats may be required.
