Bond(SBA)

DESCRIPTION:

AT-BOND (SBA) is a two component epoxy resin based, solvent-less, non sag, structural adhesive especially formulated for pre fabricated bridge segments.

STANDARDS:

AT-BOND (SBA) complies with FIP, BS, ASTM etc

USE:

  • Segmental bridge adhesive for use on substrates at +25°C to +45ºC

PRODUCT FEATURES:

  • Fixes the shear keys easily
  • High mechanical strength
  • High initial and ultimate strengths
  • Resist the penetration of liquids and water vapour easily
  • No water absorption
  • Application on dry and damp concrete surfaces (moisture tolerant)
  • No humidity effect on curing
  • Over head application possible
  • Solvent less
  • Hardens without shrinkage
  • Easy to indentify individual component
  • Can be used as gap filling Adhesive
  • Good chemical resistance

CONCRETE SURFACE PREPARATION AND APPLICATION:

  • The surface(s) must be clean, dry, free from grease or oil etc.
  • Remove cement laitance, loose particle and other contaminants from the surface by wet grinding or sand blasting process.
  • Mix components A & B together for at least 3 minutes with a mixing spindle attached to a slow speed electric drill (max. 600 rpm) until the material becomes smooth in consistency and a uniform grey colour is obtained.
  • Avoid aeration while mixing.
  • Then, pour the whole mix into a clean container and stir again for approx. 1 more minute at low speed to keep air entrapment at a minimum.
  • Mix only that quantity which can be used within its pot life.
  • Apply the mixed adhesive to the prepared surface with a spatula, trowel, notched trowel, or with hands protected by gloves.

MIXING:

  • Component A : Component B = 2 : 1 (by weight)

COVERAGE:

  • Approximately 1.9 kg per sq mt per 1 mm layer thickness

NOTE: Coverage of AT-BOND (SBA) varies with roughness & porosity of surface and temperature. As temperature drops, the mixed material becomes thicker and more difficult to spread thus resulting lower yield. If unmixed components have been exposed to the sun and are hot, working life (pot life) of mixed material will be shortened. AT-BOND (SBA) should not be used at temperatures below 25°C and above 45°C. DO NOT ADD SOLVENTS OR WATER TO THIN THE MIX.

  • CLEANING
    • Clean all tools and equipments immediately after use with xylene or toluene.
